We are so lucky here as there are so many bike trails throughout the Denver metro area.
The kingpin of them all is the Highline Canal. Originally built following the 1859 gold rush, the builders hoped it would entice newcomers to settle in the area.
Just the Denver version is 71 miles long, but it branches off into neighboring communities like this one in Westminster, CO.
Now it’s used for hiking, biking , and for those in search of a little bit of nature in the city. Each of these little interwoven tails has sections where you can lose yourself in another time.
So cool to see the thick, older trees, the tractor path along the creek, wildflowers… Seems like from a page from the past.
I love finding these little gems!
